Great Pics, there were some really nice 68-72's for sale this year. That last pic with the 73 was right next to my vendor spots which was also under water.
And a really great guy, Jeff (forum member), owns it ...
Thanks Jay, it was great to finally meet you and that you liked the car in person. We had a great time while we were there and the car was shot for an upcoming TV spot! I had Alan Colvin (Editor of Corvette Fever) riding along for some laps around the track at Carlisle.
They used an all original 435hp car to shoot footage of mine along with a golf cart...yes, it was slow speed but it was alot of fun. When we finished the track shoot, I asked if I could drive around the track...... and when they said sure ..... I roasted 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear down the front straight and just buried it in 2nd down the back stretch then let the giant BAER brakes do their thing . When I got back to the start point they were all running around screaming "do it again so we can get it on film!!!" So we hit it again Here are some pics my wife took during the filming and interview.

On the throttle, if only the pic was two seconds later...tons of smoke!!
Jeff,
It gives it a totally differnent look with the hard top on it. I like the looks. Looking forward to the video! Sorry I could not make it this year.
I also looked at the black '69 L68 coupe and thought it was a beauty! I would have liked to talk with Jerry about that car. Several early C3's sold that I know of. The '72 Elkhart green ZQ3 coupe sold for 15K, the '69 Daytona yellow L46 convertible for 24K, Jim Wallace's '72 Mille Miglia red coupe for 25K.
I saw that Sal Carbone brought the '71 War Bonnet yellow LT-1 coupe again to sell. There was a '71 Bridgehampton blue LT-1 coupe in the manufacturers row, fully restored like the War Bonnet LT-1 for 50K, absolutely stunning, a M21/3:55 drivetrain. You couldn't duplicate that restoration even if the car was free! Sal's car was just as spectacular for 49K, if either car had just one piece of factory documentation I would have bought them both.
Warren,i wish we could have hooked up some how it would have been nice to meet you in person.Sal's LT-1 was 2 spots away from me and really is a beauty. There really was some nice 68-72's for sale at very good prices.
I did a quick run-through Saturday afternoon on my way to Boston with my son. I was quite taken with the International Blue 68 because it was so similar to my very own car (started a separate thread on it). We were lucky to have found the nice weather window Saturday around 3 pm. We left as the storm clouds approached.
It seemed like we were in a different vendor's tent every time it started raining. Needless to say, I came home with some new toys... There was a Survivor '69 350/300 (much like my car came from the factory) in the NCRS tent that was almost flawless. It certainly caught my eyes.
