Default Can Anyone ID These Wheels?

Evenin' All. I was in C4 world for a while, but sold my 86 and bought a 78. Has anyone seen these wheels before? They need to be rechromed, but I was wondering if it would be worth the expense or not. I know there's not much wheel showing in the pic, but I don't have many pics of the car yet. I'll take some better pics and put them up, but I thought someone might recognize the wheels.

Can I see a lug nut in there?
If not are these cool expensive real knock offs?
The front appears the spokes are very rusted and pitted my guess it wont be worth rechorming and would be unsafe unless they are some uber rare real knock offs,
Of course they could be chrome wheels with a wire basket, hard to tell in this picture,

Yes, run of the mill lug nuts. I didn't think they were rare or anything, I just wondered if someone might recognize the brand. I haven't had them off the car yet to check for a logo. I think they've probably been on the car since the mid 80's. I don't recall having seen a set like this before though.

I bought the car last week and haven't had much time to play wih it. It does run and stop well, but it's in need of serious cosmetic work.

Mark, I can't figure them out from the angle of the picture . Anyway, hold on to them until you determine what they really are. Might be a really nice add to the car.

Tough angle on the picture but based on what I can see I'm guessing Tru Spoke based on the spoke positioning and spacing.

Cragar tru spokes is what they appear to me to be,
They always had rust issues, I would love to find a set in 15x10 or 15x12 and 15x8 for up front,
Nice classy old school wheel

I was planning to drive this thing around a little before tearing into it too much, but taking a second looking at that tire and the brake caliper in that picture, I think I may do some addiional inspection work before spending too much time behind the wheel.

Thanks for the help on wheel manufacture. I figured thay were garden variety of one sort or another.

These seem to be well built but you never know with rust, most all vettes will have a thin spacer between them and the caliper for clearence,

A set that looked about like yours was on my custom 66
I swapped them for a set of aluminum mags a fellow had and he put cheater slicks on the spoke wheels, lit them up in front of his house with a 400 plus small block, much to my shock and dismay the tires gave up before the wheels broke,

I am jealous, whish I just swapped my 86 for a 78...78 what a great year

Those are Crager Star-wires. I have a set on my car. They are a little crusty from twenty years of storage, but not that bad. If memory serves, I want to say that maybe Cragar has started building them again. Not sure though. I cannot say that I was ever fond of them, but they were brand new and came with the car . . .
I really doubt that the cost to chrome all the peices, reassemble them and then get them trued would be worth the cost and effort/
