Correct Spare Tire

Is this the correct spare tire for a 74 Corvette?

I don't think so. I had full size spare in my 76 and 79.

No way. C3's had a full sized spare.

Nope, your 74 would have had a GR70x15, probably Firestone, but could be a Goodyear. The sidewall could be a blackwall, whitewall or white lettered, depending on what was ordered on the car. The wheel would have been a standard steel rally wheel. The tire shown is a Temp-A-Spare used from 78-82, though it will work if your just looking for a spare.

I have the original spare from my '73. It's a blackwall firestone. Been thinking about getting rid of it. My car isn't original anymore so I don't need to hang onto it.

My 75 has the original spare (never used, still has label) and it is a Goodyear SteelGard RWL GR70x15 on the 8" wheel.

My 75 tire and wheel are in storage - enough age cracking that I wouldn't trust it. Looks like the original valve stem also. Maybe your 4 year "older" spare is in better shape!
