I don't know why you are so angry but Willcox can solve your problem. Yes, I own a Corvette. More than one over the years.

I don't twixt or tweeter or twitter or have a budgey or parrot to do so.

About every after-market Vette supplier has side view mirrors. I got mine on flea-bay a while back, but they are readily available everywhere.

BTW If you are going to bitch about the forum, become a supporting member.

I agree with Jeff79. A year would have made it easier to diagnose a fix.
On the chrome mirrors I have seen people set the mirror to be never moved again and used JB Weld. The sport mirror's are too easy after they are off. I just tightened mine last weekend.

Pull your head out of your rear and use the search function. I fixed my '69 outside mirror with the wonderful step by step description and photos from a FORUM MEMBER found on this FORUM that was perfect.

You should have thought of that before you 1) tore yours up and 2) insulted all of us.

BTW, I currently own 2 Corvettes (that's with 2 "E"s, Einstein) and have owned and sold 5 others, all valued at more than $60K each. I find this forum very helpful and also at times entertaining when I run across posts like yours, so thank you, you amused me.

Next time keep your "JMO" to yourself unless you have something to contribute.

Let me add something to this thread. Just today I reassembled a outside mirror that was loose. It was a aftermarket mirror so it had screws instead of the riveted ball support. I used a rubber faucet washer to tighten up the socket.

I used Permatex high-temp RTV to reinstall the glass mirror. I tested both the Orange and the black RTV in both Lacquer thinner and gasoline.
Both solvents dissolved the RTV. Last thing I wanted in case I had to do this again some day was to use something that I could not dissolve. Just read the instructions, if it says not to use around gasoline then it is what you want.

This is how I fixed mine. A lot cheaper than replacing them. Can be adjusted, but very stiff now like new.
