That paint looks good in certain applications. I have seen it used in a 1/8" pinstripe, and small flames. It looks good in small doses, but I agree not on an entire car.
I saw that car at a "Toys for Tots" car show on Labor day in Portland.
All heads turned when they heard him coming in. Pretty sweet set up, but not my cup of tea. The paint changes color as you walk around it. He did tell me his wife don't like riding in it so it's time to sell. How the heck do you see where you're going.
I'd be in the market for a nice C-2 if I had that kind of money.
The 502 averages $7500.00, the blower kit another $4000.00 and all the countless little goodies. Then you still have a pretty clean vette to strip and paint.
I'd say for $5000.00, it would last about 15 seconds.

Buying the crate 502 is a waste of $$$$$...for one you get a crappy cam that dies and two getting piece meal components, you end up with more cubes, better cam for less or equal money....aks me how I know....
Oh, Moosie... and I was having such high hopes for you
$47,000. For a $5000 hotrod with a staggeringly ugly paintjob.
I can't find one thing I don't dislike about that thing.
Thanks for the vote of confidence ,,, its appreciated , the car is too far on the extreme end of the corvette spectrum for you to like it, just as I figured, but for a toy (YEP 'spensive) it'd be cool to have on cruise nights, but in reality I think I could find better places to put my money.
Peace,,,Moosie

By crate motor, I just meant one that you don't build yourself, I prefer sbc for cost and fuel, but with BB, the cost and choices can be seemingly endless.
Sorry you had problems, what brand was it?
As far as value, keep in mind this car was advertised in racing junk and not in the NCRS Driveline. A little different audience.

No problems...I went peace meal...bought the 502 bare block, bought 4.25" internal balanced crank, JE pistons and rings, H beam rods, solid roller, had the heads and intake...built it myself...
Buy going peace meal, you get the cam you want, pistons, C.R of your choice, etc..etc...and you end up with more cubes, internal balanced engine, better cam and power for about the same or just a tad less than if you buy crate.
Dart 4.6 bore BB $2400
Brodix top end $2900
Crank Rods Pistons $2000
565 cubes right out of the box, then add a $1000 for a full roller cam kit.
$8300 +/-, add water and instant hotrod
When I built my 533, it cost me 3900.00 for the complete short block, including machine work....finish hone, notching the block for rod clearance, etc., solid roller & lifters, springs, but that was way back in 2001.
