For a true "Puritan" it isn't quite right, but it seems like a very nice A/C optioned vert. Sellers say all kinds of dumb stuff, and most don't really know the cars all that well(especially 68's! with their one off parts). I wouldn't necessarily blow off a car because of a dumb seller. An in person look is the only way to buy anyway.
None of it matters. When you misrepresent your car for sale by saying things that are simply not true, then you call YOUR credibility into question, regardless of the weaka$$ excuse for it.

WOW
reserve has been met..........only $18,400 at the moment
now really starting to smell fishy no ?
vert /a/c/ 29K 2 owner car, matching w/ tank sticker ?????
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ??
Sounds like he was realistic on the reserve, and someone should end up with a nice vert at a decent price. It's probably not an intentional misrepresentation, more a case of the last owner told him this and that, and he just doesn't know any better. They may well be "original" corvette side pipes and console(not repops) though not 68 specific.Unless your a genuine "Corvette" guy, and especially a 68 specific Corvette guy it's hard to know it all. As far as his reply to the E-Bay question, he is most likely repeating what he was told. It just seems like bashing for bashings sake.
