Just picked up a 1976 modified C3. It has a 383 Stroker with a high stall convertor. Not overly liking the euro headlights though. Has a high rise hood and completely new interior except the seats. Look forward to working on it. By the way, the '76 replaced a '86E coupe.

Looks great and love the color. The paint looks fantastic! Yeah, I agree with you on the head lights, but you can swap them out to the original set up in time.

Nice purchase !
I agree with you about the headlights, too. The car seems to be in a good condition. Apparently, you also have an aftermarket (KNN ) air cleaner, Holley carb ( as far as I can see ), Edelbrock intake manifold and valve covers.
Did the seller tell you something about the camshaft and heads ? You should ask him as long as you can.
As the engine parts aren't stock, this can help you later...

I think the best way to lower the front is to install a big-block...

I also love the color; is that a root-beer or burnt-orange, or something in-between the two?

That's just what I was thinking about, but I didn't dare to tell him

The guy I picked it up from only had it 2 weeks so I don't think he knows much about it. It does have a Holly 870 Street Avenger carb, Edelbrock intake and K&N filter.
The paint is Atomic orange. I knew someone would suggest a BB to lower. Guess I'll have to find a procedure to replace or shorten the springs.

Get the guy you bought it from to give you the previous owners phone # so you can find out more about the engine and anything else they did. I also noticed the alternator bracket is from a passenger car.
Good luck with it.

Headlight treatment isn't really "Euro," it's the old-school Monza/Eckler look from the 70s and 80s customs.

I like the color! I bet someone rebuilt the front end and didn't get the springs seated properly. That's a common cause of a high front end. if your engine is an iron block it should sit as low as any other Vette. Not hard to fix, just requires a few hours to separate the ball joints and get the springs up into the upper pocket correctly.

BTW, one of the first things you should do is buy an Assembly Manual. It will be of great help in figuring out what Bubba did to your car. Bubba worked on almost all of our cars at one time or another.
