My DeWitts electric fan set-up has been running great since I finished rebuilding my 350 in July. Has never been over 195. Today, the fans shut off once, then ran the rest of the time non-stop. The temp gauge was showing probably 165-170. It would have normally been off by then. Should I look at the sending unit? I let it cool down and restarted it, fans were off until it hit 195, then wouldn't shut off again.
Does Tom warranty the sending units? Does this happen often? It's only been 2-1/2 months.
Can't speak for Tom, but he is pretty good about that kind of thing. Problem will be the sending unit. You can check it out with a pan of hot water, heat it up while watching the temp with a thermometer and then cooling it dowm, see what temps the thing opens and closes at.
John,
Thanks for standing by your product. Very cool!
To everyone on the CF, here's a good reason to choose DeWitt's when you are at that point. After being a member here for several years now, the reputation is unquestionable, and the product is top shelf!
