A friend asked me about how many early C3's had a stick/manual,

I really do not know and can't find it broken down like this by year,

Years 68-73 ....... auto
....................... manual
....... 74-79 ....... auto
......................... manual
......... 80-82....... auto
..........................manual

im 52 ,been driving a tractor trailer for 31 years and the last thing i want to do when out of my rig is shift. when driving my tractor i seldom even use the clutch and skip gears when able to. main thing i wanted was a BB. now 25 years ago it was different. my 70 BB was a stick.

For 80 and 81, MM4 is a manual transmission. 82 was the only year with just automatics.

Don't know where they got their info but stating that there was no M20 in 1970 and up is cr*p. M20 was the 'default' transmission RPO in all those years. That's why your numbers are way off. Add qty. 8803 M20s for 1973. M40 was 17,927 also, not 19,927.

Does anyone sell a "kit" for adding a stick to the c3's?

After much thought on it all the only thing I know for sure is I want a tranny with overdrive....
