Default Newbie Question

I just bought a 76 vette and am replacing the interior carpeting. The back of the rear deck of the corvette has a courtesy light but no courtesy light mounted in the overhead in the T-Top center panels. First question:
is this a factory standard, and second, is there carpeting supposed to be on the underside of the rear deck?
Thanks for the help.

Hey Risedens.........Welcome to the '76 club..........

First question. Yes. But if your Vette had been built in late '76, you would of found that lamp overhead like a '77....

Second question. No. I bought my '76 new, and believe me there was never carpet under the deck..........

I sold a 76 a few months ago, blue car with black interior, the buyer planned to fix up and resale...

Your questions were answered I just wanted to say Hello..Welcome and that the 76 is a very cool year, last year of "STINGRAY" and has the so called vega steering wheel,

Actually, my 77 had the "Vega" wheel in it also. The 77 non-tilt column had the Vega style wheel. The tilt column had the nicer wheel.

Mine now has a Grant after market wheel, much nicer looking.
(sorry for the hijack)
