Default Exhaust picture request

It was a great day in the corvette household last night. After 6 weeks of waiting, my complete exhaust arrived from Corvette Central.
In preparation for the install i wanted to see if anyone had some good reference photos of the exhaust assembly installed. My biggest area of concern are the mufflers. When I originally got my car it had no exhaust or mufflers installed so I want to get a good idea of what the finished product should look like. (hangers, attachment points, etc)
For instance, do you need a spare tire carrier to install the exhaust? Silly question but I do not have one yet and the assembly manuals frequently mention the carrier being removed for many projects. Underneath my car currently is the fuel tank (which I installed over the summer) and nothing else. Where do the mufflers bracket or attach to?

From the manifolds to the mufflers is pretty straight forward but im concerned about the muffler unknown region. I would hate to get under the car, mufflers laying on top of me only to find out im missing something or have no attachment points!

Any ideas, tips or photos of what i should be looking for or prepared to expect?
72 Small block, auto, coupe with the 2" OEM welded syle mufflers for those wanting the particulars. Thanks all!

Tip #1: Purchase the assembly instruction manual and the chassis service manual for your year. AIM and CSM show the installation of the entire exhaust system, including required clearances in a few places.

You don't need the spare tub for the job, but it might be easier to install one now than after the pipes and mufflers are in the way. Ditto for antenna or theft alarm work; do it now before you hang the mufflers.

Good luck.

I do have both the ASM and the CSM manuals but i will have to refer back to them now that i have the exhaust. I thought last time I read through those sections it was pretty vague on location of hangers or attachments...but it has been several months and a few projects ago. I'll check them tonight to see what Im in for. Overall Im not expecting a difficult job; am I wrong? Over the past year 4 months I've been "removing" everything, its exciting to be actually "adding" to the car for a change!

Theres only 2 hangers per side.1 behind the trans. The pipe fits right into it and you c-clamp around it.The other one is at the very rear of the muffler.I put the 2.5" on my 71 coupe. It fit together very good.I got it from Corvette central too!

This is exactly what i was looking for! i just couldnt figure how they attach to the frame piece next to/under the gas tank. Thank you very much. So the clamp holding the extension does not route anywhere in particular huh, just over the extension to hold in place?

Thanks again

That is right. The clamp on the extension just keeps it on the end of the muffler.
