i was wondering what people thought of the 73 vette, is the one year style veiwed as unique or weird, are they alot harder to sell than a 68-72, thanks for your opinions.
Even though I own a '72, my opinion is the '73 has the best side profile of any C3. A very fluid line all the way from the tip of the nose to the tail. But the chrome bumper cars will always outsell the later cars, all other things being equal.

I love my 73. I know the 68-72 will sell for more, but I'm not planning on selling so it's for me to enjoy. I like that it is really easy to pick out as a one year style.
I like the styling of the '73 and since I'm not concerned about it being an investment I can do whatever I want with it. Mine is black even though there were no production black '73's produced. I like the cowl induction as well that was available from'73-75.
73 Rides better (rubber body mounts) , is quieter (more insulation) and performs as well as any.... and does have a great side profile!
collector value is a little lower than the 68-72 for whatever reason, so you can but one cheaper, but also plan to sell it cheaper. One detraction is the fixed rear window. i'm in process of collecting parts to convert mine to a pop-out.

I think unique.
I don't think they will ever catch (price wise) of the earlier chrome bumper cars.
But they are more sophisticated with the rubber body mounts and extra insulation that they will always hold their own.
Drive an earlier C3 and hear all the rattles and rough riding they do.
I love mine.
I'm very happy with mine!! Even though it has a 75 front bumper...
I couldn't touch a bumper car with my budget. I don't plan on selling it anytime soon so re-sale value was not a consideration. this winter it's getting a 5 spd and maybe steeroids....if the wife says it's OK...
Thanks for the compliment Rickman and nice vert hsaarch. As far as the removeable rear window goes, GM claims that it was made fixed to improve aero and reduce cabin wind noise. I'm sure there was a cost savings in there somewhere but GM reitierates it was for the reasons noted. I had a '70 back in the early '70's and I never took the back window out.
To me the 73 is the best looking C3. I really like the soft front nose since it is lower and creates a smooth contour to the look end - much better aerodymanic looks. The also the the turned up rear end like the eariler C3's. I am not a fan of the rounded rear end. While the fastback of the 78 and later is more user friendly for storage they still have the rounded rear end. The 73 also eliminated the troublesome wiper door and replaced it witht he induction air system for the engine, again adding the to appearance, IMO. I have owned 2 73's and have installed the removale rear window in both. The fixed window is the only negative in the 73's, but it can be eliminated in an afternoon once you have the parts.
I've also always been a fan of the lines of the '73. I bought this one as a project to flip and make a few dollars over 20 years ago. Can't seem to part with it. It's been halfway around the world and back, and had a complete body off done. Can't afford to sell it now...
Even tho my C3 is a 72, I love the 73's for their unique, one year look. The only downer, as someone has already stated, is the fixed rear window.
I converted mine about 8 years ago. It is a bolt in swap, with the parts. The only time it goes in is to wash the car. I love driving it with the window out, nice sounds and it pulls through the vents better.
I was looking for a 68 or 69 but felt I could live with a 70 to 73.Then I got a deal on a 73 vert frame off project. after doing searches for parts and info I found the wheels and wheel wells are widerThan earlier C3s.I don't know if I could go back to a 68 to 72 now?Still love all the Vettes!!!
