I have 1980vette both choke and choke light stay on also alternater light on any repair ideas or suggestions? please help thank you
You will need a voltmeter to check these things, and know how to use it. There should be a wire to your choke that has 12 volts when the engine is running. If that is good, maybe the choke is sticking or the actuator needs replacing. If there is a wire loose in the engine compartment that looks like it would plug into the choke and it has 12 volts on it, plug it into the choke actuator.
Check the battery terminals when the engine is running. You should see 13+ to 14+ volts if the alternator and regulator are functioning correctly.
Take some pictures of your engine bay, especially the carb and post them. It's a lot easier to spot problems in pictures than in words.
