Default suspension changes

Recently purchased a 82, 49,000 miles. I'm looking for suggestions for a "cushy" ride. I have owned a 1993, 2001, 2003 ZO6, and a 2006 Vette and am now 75 years old and will be driving [MN summers only] to get the newspaper, take my wife to dinner and just enjoy the looks of the 82. I have looked at 300 lb rear leaf, and a set of coilovers with 200 lbs. I have no idea what the original equipment is rated.. Suggestions appreciated.

Cushy ride and C3 may be an oxymoron. Your car already has a fiberglass rear spring unless it has the optional FE7 suspension package. Most suspension upgrades go stiffer and not cushy. She may need a new set of shocks.

Well as soft as possible. There are various "weight" springs and mono leafs available but without knowing the weights of the original equipment it is difficult to choose.

You would want the factory mono spring or aftermarket 300 rate mono if you can not get less.

Not necessarily for 82, VBP lists the std. steel about 200 & replacement mono about 300.

You do not want the factory hi perf. 7 leaf steel rated at 300 (mono replacement is rated higher)!

On my 81 I have BF Goodrich Radial T/A's in 255/60/15 along with Bilstein HD shocks and it rides great. Not firm but not too soft.
