The "Brights"???
So my '80s brights suddenly are'nt working: when I pull back on the cc lever it just flops around rather than latch onto the brights rod as it's always done flawlessly. So, I assuming there's some piece that either A.) Fell out, or B.) Rotted away.
...anyone help me on the subject? There some plastic piece I need to get or is there something wrong with the entire lever?

Sounds like your hi-low beam switch is bad. It is a separate switch mounted on top of the column. Fits many GM cars of the day, should be available at any parts house. Have to pull the column down to replace it.
