Air cleaner sensor switch
I have a 1980 California/305 version. (unfortunately) My hobby is just keeping it stock and having everything working properly. I can not seem to get the air filter thermal vac switch to work properly. Vacuum is ported to one side of the switch. When the switch is cold it is open and vacuum continues to the flapper valve to hold it closed. When the switch warms (from engine heat and exhaust shroud air) it should close and cut off the vacuum to the flapper allowing it to open. I have tried 4 different switches (all new) and none of them close off the vacuum when warm, keeping the flapper closed all of the time. Any ideas?
