Okay...I wanted to do another poll and this time try to cover several answers and you can also vote for more than one choice,
Please keep this to C3's

Please be courteous to the next fellow, in other words don't post as a reply that what you do with your car is the "only" right way to do it,
We are all different with different tastes and opinions.

Live and let live....

Interesting poll, I voted for number 3, which is probably closest to how I view my Corvettes presently. I have always been interested in muscle cars from when I was old enough to drive, that being 1970. I feel fortunate to have lived during the hey day of the muscle car era. When I look back at all the various models I wanted to own and didn't and now see where their values have gone to, I definitely wanted to own one of the best shark era 'vettes I could. I'm still on the look out to add to my collection, but at the moment I'm quite content with what I own.

When I went to post the poll it said number 4 was too long, it did read,

"Holding value is wonderful, my vette is to enjoy it like I would any car."

Early shark,
Let me ask,
Do you "worry" about value to the point of taking fun out of the drive?

I like that is has some value but I have way more in it than it will ever be worth and will probably continue to put more into it. I drive it as hard as I can and don't wory to much about it breaking. I will fix what ever breaks. I try not to damage it but if $%it happens it does. Life is to short not to enjoy it.

However, I did just get a set of 17x8 TT II's, I'm hoping that will help to pick-up some chicks!

"Are you kidding, my vette is just a car, I drive it like I stole it."

It wouldn't matter if it was an mustang, camaro, or a 3/4 truck, It's full throttle whenever I can get away with it safely. That said, I still love teh stingray body lines the best.

To me the best part is the world is much more friendly. When I'm driving it, people follow me and strike up conversations. They tell me about there car in high school, brothers car, uncles car, start guessing the year, asking questions, etc... No one speaks to me, smiles, waves, thumbs up, or hoots and howls at me when I drive my silverado.

I hope it makes others happy too. Maybe it brings them back to a happy time and good memories.

Regards

No, I bought them when they were way undervalued, I knew they would eventually become quite valuable, but that's part of why I like driving them. You just don't get to see really rare models being driven as they were meant to be. I'm only on this Earth a short while, I intend to enjoy the performance aspect of these cars while I'm able to.

I hear you and wished I was that wise when I built my wide body,
After I got it out of paint I was so scared a pigeon would fart on it or a pebble would chip it I never enjoyed it then I sell it to a dork who wrecks it about a zillion times then it gets shipped overseas,
With the Mako build I am doing I will drive it the way I desire, if I break it I will fix it.

"Are you kidding, my vette is just a car, I drive it like I stole it." Big time!

My car is more like a prizefighter that came from the school of hard knocks with all the scars to show from it. And this Bad Boy never fails to turn heads or draw a crowd...not in beauty pageants, but at cruises, Sat nite meets, or the strip. Especially at the strip. Thats what it for and thats how I drive it.

If I were to put my vette up against a prim and proper, numbers matching beauty queen in any show, I would lose. Badly. But then if you put that garage queen up against my vette in my world, it would lose. Badly. Different worlds and different admirers.

Just bought a '73 coupe. Have always liked the Stingray body style. I hope the chicks will like the EXtenZe (454) engine.

What purpose does my vette serve? It puts a big smile on my face every time I
drive it. It is my stress reliever, my way of shutting out everything for a short
time, and it is my thinking post, it clears my mind and allows me to put everything
in my life in order. I drive with the radio off so I am relaxed by the sweets sounds
of my small block running down a nice country road while giving me time to think.

This has been the best purchase I have ever made. This is how I feel every
time I drive it.

Riggs.

I voted "my vette is to enjoy it like I would any car" because it fit the best for me but it should read "my vette is to enjoy it like I would any hot rod".

i feel sorry for those people who are so afraid that they are going to knock a few dollars off of their numbers matching ncrs 100% restored money pit that they wont even crank it up.

i keep mine looking as nice as i can and wont drive when its calling for rain but thats about it, my 72BB had 50K on the odometer a year ago when i got it, now it has 65K. thats 15K miles of fun filed pavement burning tire smoking enjoyment and worth every single penny. and yeah it can shamefully be used to pick up chics as well

Why are the first three options talking about the car's financial value? I love my car and am careful to look after it, but not for financial reasons. None of the options are right for me.

Ben,
I can't make everyone happy now can I?
I will try harder to make my next post more pleasing to you.

Sorry you do not feel the last 3 choices fit you either, seems no one else had any issues.

However,
Your question is a good one allow me to answer that one,
As anyone who spends much time on this forum knows there is a certain amount of good hearted sparring between the camps of lovers of custom and lovers of modded Vettes,

One big thing I see come up over and over is the investment potential and value of the Corvette,
In fact I have seen so many posts reflecting how important value is I am surprised that even combined the first 3 choices didn't score higher,
I was under the impression that the really top NCRS cars can't be driven or much as it would put miles on the car hurting value.

But I am pleased that whether it's truly accurate or not that most people did vote they use their vette as they would any car.
