Vin decoding question

i have a '76. it says the 5th character decodes the engine. my 5th character is an L. according to the site i was looking at the only engine codes for the 1976 is a J or an X. Is this site wrong or my vin? the next character is a 6 representing the year. thanks.

that helps alot. thanks. a site i veiwed before read as you stated, i just was on a different site that listed it as "J". thanks

The ZQ3 is more commonly known as the base, or L48 engine
