'76 Steering wheel

Many of the parts (hub, telescope lock, horn contact, etc) are the same parts 1969-75 or 1977-82. There are very few parts on the 1976 telescoping steering wheel, horn parts, telescope lock that are the same as the earlier or later years.
There was only one slight hickup with the 1977 installation in my car. The extension
(4589110) that is used with the 1977-82 steering wheel is shorter than the 1969-75 extension (3949109). I don't remember why but you must use the correct extension with the correct steering wheel. Anyway, the 77-82 extension is shorter than the 69-75 extension. So if you telescope your steering wheel all the way rearward (toward the driver), the shorter extension when used on a 1976 T&T steering column will leave a small 1/4 inch gap that the extension doesn't cover. However, I don't know too many people that want the steering wheel all the way rearward, so it is basically a non-issue.
I was surprised that I could not find any sales information on the 1976 "Vega" style steering wheels in any of my catalogues or on-line after searching a half dozen suppliers. Just a one year happening that nobody wants to service.

Scroll down to the papers next to the bottom.
They have parts lists for either 69-75 or 77-82 installations on a 1976 T&T column.
