Default ZZ4 Temp Sending unit

Hi all,
I just ordered a temp sensor to replace my existing but it now occurs to me that my ZZ4 heads (L-98) may not accept it.

Anyone have experience with this?

You are right Dantana, the ZZ4 takes the smaller sending unit. I mounted my original sending unit on one of the intake ports (the one beside the rad goose neck) and it works fine there.

Did the same on my ZZ4. Small prob gettting a connector to fit under the hose.

Thats what I did also but I think in your other thread I "said" I installed it in the the thermostat housing, sorry for the misinformation.
edit-Here it is tucked up under the radiator hose.

My solution for this was to buy another thermostat housing, mill the housing off of it and use the base as a spacer to raise the housing up over the temp sending unit. It worked great.

That's where mine is now, did you use the stock sending unit in L-98 heads?

Roger, I started a new thread because I shifted the focus a little - nice catch...

I used Corvette Central 663321 temp sending unit. I put the corvette central one in my original motor and used the original in my GM crate motor.

If you want to keep the sending unit in the same place and know a machinist, you can turn this down and re-thread it to the 3/8 n.p.t. threads. This will keep the original sending unit in the car and give you an accurate reading.

Food for thought...
