I have converted to PW's in my '72. I bought 2 used motors, they work, but the passenger side goes up fast but down very slowly. Would it be worth it to have the motor rebuilt locally?
My question...in looking for a used motor, what years and models of GM cars (if any), other than Vettes, share the same PW motors as our C3's..
Also which years C3's have compatible PW motors as my '72?
It sounds like the motors are good. Clean the PW switch for the pass. side. Electronic cleaner is best (even WD-40 will work). Check for binding going down.
These motors are very good- one time there was a topic where various guys cleaned various connections including one who cleaned inside the motor to fix them.

Ganey,
I mentioned that I was doing a conversion. The switches are brand new, as is the harness, relay, connectors, regulators, rollers, etc... everything except the motors. The window glass isnt even in yet, so theres nothing really to bind. I checked for that, as I can look into the top of the door, and the regulator is moving free.
Thats why I figured it might be the motor. It really scoots going up, really struggles going down..
