I recently purchased a 1977 vette it had been partially restored. They lost the seat belts so they put lap belts in instead of shoulder straps. It has the place to bolt the shoulder straps in. So my question is are there other GM seat belts that would work, or do I need corvette seat belts. Does anybody know of a company that makes them or where I can get them. Thanks
I am awaiting to get my originals refurbished but I got my aftermarket belts from these guys and they are good quality and fit good and are reasonable. There should be shoulder harness mounting points on your 77 the inerta reel mounts to your rear fender wells and they pivot on your door pillars. http://www.ssnake-oyl.com/mm5/mercha...ory_Code=3PRLS
Charlie Santori in NJ has restored originals, but expect to pay $650 or more for an original set. PM me if you'd like Charlie's number, I have it at work and can send it to you Monday.
Corvette America sells some nice original configuration belts for about $400 a set. I think the main difference between these and originals, is that these don't have the GM logo on the buckle.
I too am using f-body rear seatbelts in my '77. I think mine are from a 2001 Camaro and they are black. I got all four belts, buckles, and bolts for $45 shipped from Contemporary Corvette in Bristol, PA.
