Usually, but not always. 1970 production began in January, 1970. 1975 production began in October of 1974. There are some out of the ordinary production year start dates.

But not for a 1978...which I thought this thread was / is specific to.

The thread is about a 78, Easy Mike appeared to be giving a detailed explination as to why A did not mean August for the 78 year model.
