Rear Bumper Braces (Outer)

My 1969 does not have the braces that mount from the rear outer corners of the frame to the outer bumper bolt at the 1/4 panel.

I think they started in 1973??? and are parts 331868 and 331864?

Anyway - I forgot to check into drilling holes in my frame to accept these before I put the body back on.

If someone could supply pics, I could see how they mount and maybe figure if there is enough room to drill the holes now.

This is the best I can do. This is a pic. of the frame on my 72 and as far as I know 72 was the first year for the small brace you are asking about. Hope this helps.

Here is one more. The best I remember the braces go attached to the outter holes and they had nuts welded onto the back of the holes.

Thanks - I am talking about the rods. Thanks for the clarification. I see in your recent pic there are 2 holes in the rear portion of the frame. I believe it is the outermost hole, as the only hole my frame has is about 2.5" inward. I did checked it out a bit more this morning and I do have the correct rods.

As for drilling the hole - the time for doing that was when the body was off - but I can still get to it and will have to work with a dremel to round it off nicely.

And I guess your link answers the availability for years 72-73.
