On my Pace Car the tape is about 1/2" wide. Bottom 1/2 is red, top 1/2 is silver to match lower paint. They probably did it that way cause it's a lot easier than getting that line perfect with paint. I would think that the new replacement kits are the same way. My Silver Ann is the same type of tape also, silver and dark gray.
Interested in this thread also as I'm getting ready to repaint my PC. Figured I would go ahead and order the decals and see what I got. My main worry was where to end the paint line as I'm not going to be able to follow the original because I am taking the original paint down to the gelcoat.

I have a 78 Pace Car. My car is going to is going the the paint shop tomorrow.
The shop is going to take a marker to the car to note all the items that will need work. They will be taking images of all the panels of the car. This way they won't over look any details.
The wheel arches are going to be measured. They will take a washer on a string along with a pencil. The washer is moved along the wheel lip and the pencil is used to mark the distance and the arc.
The shop is going to take progress pictures for me. They will be on his website.
