Automatic Shift **** Replacement 1978
Am getting a shiny new chrome shifter ****, spring and button for my 78 this Xmas . . . it appears that each component simply threads On & Off. Are there any retainer clips or other things to be aware of when removing the old one ? Can someone tell me "How To" ? Thank you very much !

Unscrew the chrome button and be ready to catch the spring underneath it. If the button will not unscrew by hand, protect it before putting the pliers to it. With button and spring removed, unscrew the shifter ****. Protect it if you intend to re-use it or sell it.
