the rear window of my 73 has the electrical defroster built into it, I also have the blower motor that sits under the left side of the rear window whick i believe to be the defogger, I think the rear glass was installed by someone and is not correct for the car, anyone know anything about whick is correct for the car?
the glass code reads 1bm83, where can I look this code up?
Does the glass say LOF? LOF was the supplier of glass for the C3. Here are the date codes for the glass but the number you have doesn't look like an LOF number.
G'day,
My '74 L82 has a fan/blower assembly for de-fogging the rear window. Trouble is, it did not have the flexible hose or the vent in the panel. I used a piece of heater ducting hose I had laying around that was the right size and made up a buck for the vent.
I then made a mould from the buck and laid up a "new" vent out of fibreglass. Looks factory, but probably not to a NCRS guy.
Hey John
Feeling a bit like a stalker - Greg here in Melbourne with the brown 74.
I have the rear window defogger in my 74 - all working and complete. However the vent/bezel is broken in one corner.
I have found a new one on Zip Corvette - $34 plus postage and unpainted.
Did you find any other options or have you stuck with the one you made?
Cheers
Greg
