Looking for the best advice on liquidating many, many nice C3 parts. Those of you who have been on this forum for the past years may know that I bought my '77 C3 with 63k miles from its original owner in San Diego, California. Over the past 10 years I have made many mods and enhancements to the car, none of which I regret. When I am ready to part with the car, it will be a gift to a dear friend in Belgium. He wants the car the way it is the day I am no longer able to drive it. So here is my situation, I have all the original parts from this car, most of them in mint condition...including engine, transmission, suspension, steering components, brake components, rad and shroud, mint original black leather seats, air breather, all the California Emissions components and hundreds of other and spare parts. Ideally, I wish someone restoring a '77 would show up at my door and make me offer for the entire truck load of parts but I know that is not likely to happen. Because of my geographic location, shipping these parts can be expensive and I really don't want the hassle of crating and ebaying them out (getting too old for the hassle). Any and all suggestions welcome :-)
Binnie, you inspired me to take the plunge on my 77 Red project car when I didn't have the stock components on that car to bring it back to stock. My stock 77 is very stock and not needing any new old stock parts, but if I did my friend, I'd bring a trailer up to you for sure. I like that you are interested in selling the whole batch together and my only advice would be to list all the parts you have that you are wanting to sell complete. From experience now I am not certain the engine will be highly desired unless it is the origianl L-82, but why not give it a try as a whole package first.
I'm in China this week but will watch your progress as I can. If there is anything I can do to assist you down here in the States please let me know.
Good luck Binnie, certain someone will get some very nice parts.
Best regards,
David
PS: Seats leather? Might know someone quite interested in those but only if you decide to break up the package.
