Default Hood alignment

I did do a search first, but from what I found most pertained to pre 78. My hood needs to be moved toward the passenger side. There are a few posts which say the lower bolts on the hood hinge can be loosened from underneath. My feeling is this works on pre 78, but on a 78 the reservoir for the vacuum for the head lights looks like its in the way. Has anyone done this on a 78 or later? I think I may have success if I remove the turn signal grills and remove the lower fairing assembly. Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks Bill

Post a pic. How much do you want to move the hood? You have a small amount of movement in the hood hinges.

Tried that already, didn't help.

I'm wondering whether you've got problems other than hood adjustment. Has your car been hit?

My post may be a bit misleading. The car has not been hit. I feel the reservoir is in the way because you can not see around it when the lower fairing is installed. If I recall, pre 78 vettes did not have the reservoir. I am pretty sure if I remove the lower fairing, I would have enough room. Before I do this I am hoping someone can confirm they have done this on a 78 or later and it worked.

I used paint sticks on both sides in several locations protecting the paint with the hinges semi tight so I could jiggle it into the correct location and keep tightening and checking until firm and finished.....It lined up perfect sides, front, and including the wiper door... and I didn`t have to go under the car...nor did I even want too...

I guess I'll try your suggestions. I really don't want to remove the lower fairing.
Thanks Bill
