Please help

The rear carrier is stamped on the very bottom surface, usually hard to read if at all. A small wire brush like in a soldering kit will help to clean it up. No VIN there, but letters/numbers which will indicate gear ratio and date. BB rears will have stub axles that bolt with a cap to the halfshafts.

Caveat emptor...

What I see so far I like.
Make sure to check the bird cage / A-pillars for rust...some of the photos show evidence. The car has obviously been partially repainted, the front air dam is missing, as is the smog system...which is not uncommon. New seat covers.
This may be an original side exhaust car, because the rear valance panels appear to be correct. If so, the car is one of only 4,355 C3s that ever left the factory with them. There are other ways to tell for sure. The exhaust pipes do not look correct (replaced?) and the side covers have been painted black. Are they metal or fiberglass? New reproduction covers are $2350.
And the prior salvage title and water damage just may need to be looked into further. A whole new can of worms.
All in all, it looks fairly nice. The underside has been cleaned and rattle-can painted. No way to tell from the photos if any of the mechanicals have been taken care of. After you buy it, you will undoubtedly find out. The engine compartment looks fairly correct/original, as does the interior. Power brakes and A/C also add to the value.
