Hey all, new to the forum and wanted to say hi and thanks. This forum has been extremely helpful to a young guy working his way through the ups and downs of C3 ownership.
I am recently engaged and we have set DDay for May 22nd. Lucky enough for me she is understanding (at least for now) and doesnt have a problem with all my toys ('76 Corvette, '80 Jeep CJ5, and old truck to pull both of them around when they are broken).
Like most men, there are very few requests I have when it comes to this whole wedding planning process. I understand this is more or less her day and I want it to be everything she has ever dreamed of. Guess I learned the "smile and nod" early enough to save me plenty of headaches .
I want to have a Corvette groom's cake and was wondering if anyone had pictures or ideas on the subject. It might be difficult to find someone that can actually construct a 3D C3 cake so maybe Ill stick to the logo.
Anyone have thoughts or actually seen one done??? Thanks.
On the TV Channel TLC there's a show called Cake Boss its out of New Jersey . He makes some awesome cakes . They might be able to ship the cake to you. I heard there's a waiting list so you might want to look into it soon. When I was 18 yrs old I had my eye on a 1976 red Stingray that was parked in a driveway just sitting and not being used. I talked to the owner several times and he wouldn't let the car go so I gave up on trying to get the car. 18 years later the car is still sitting in the driveway falling apart and not being used what a shame . I finally got my first corvette at 33 yrs old 2008 Z06 purchased new did the museum pick up. Its a great car. Once its paid off I might try seeing if the guy will finally let that red Stingray go and restore it. Enjoy your car.

In May of 1980 my Vette turned four years old & was paid off, and my girlfriend at the time who always said I loved my car more than her had this cake made as a joke....
May of 2010 will mark our 29th anniversary.........
As RepZ06 said - the "Cake Boss" would do an awesome job - I think they ship cakes. The name of the bakery is "Carlo's Bakery" in Hoboken, NJ. It's very close to NYC. Who knows - maybe we'll see him making your cake on one of the episodes!

I don't know, the right girl will understand. My wife told me she doesn't like motorcycles. I told her in no uncertain terms that I'm going to get another bike. That's it. Get used to the idea. She just told me that's fine, but she won't ever ride on it with me. ....which is fine by me.
Hotrods? Yeah, she LOVES those. I even had to get one for her. Now she has a '67 Impala with a 454.
