That's not a 72 console plate. 72 did not have fiber optics or 300hp engines. For 72 the engine was coded in the vin; K=350ci/200hp, L=350ci/255hp, W=454ci/270hp.

looks like 380ft lbs of torque was in the pic, Not HP.

but then again it looks like fiber optics in there.... so that has to be 68 - 71

It looks like a 350 engine out of a 1970 http://100megsfree4.com/corvette/1970/vet70.htm

It is a 1970 that was Black leather and Daytona Yellow paint.

350 engine with 380ft lbs in torque

(RPO L46) engine option or the (RPO ZQ3) standard engine

either way it is a 350.

based on the picture it looks very dirty and why would they scratch off the the ID tag info? based onn that picture i would take off the upper molding to the birdcage for rust and check out the frame too.

more pics would help too.

also check vin number to engine stamp, if they scratch out the tag info they might have changed the engine out and bubba decided to scratch out the info.

Why are you looking at the console data plate and the trim tag if you are trying to figure out the engine?

Check the pad on the passenger side head, write the numbers down including the suffix and we will decode it.

PS- data plate/tach suggest it started out as a base 350, although the valve covers aren't. Add-on 454/LT1 hood... interesting that it has rear exit standard exhaust, but the rear fender/valance design suggest a sidepipe "addition." (no sides in '70.) Mixed up car, I think.

[QUOTE=delgal;1572775551]was how can you estimate the car ?????

The car is missing a lot of parts.....I don't know if you are purchasing it as-is or he has the parts missing and will included it with the sale, but your more than likley looking at a 6 or 7k car. and that is if it runs.

Anyone else want to chime in here?

Pull the kick panels and windshield trim. My bet is that it's rusty... Have a look at the frame too. How much are they asking?

thank you,

There is more than meets the eye in your pictures.... get pictures of 1970 corvettes and compare them.... this car is not worth 8000 in my opinion. i said 6 to 7k if it runs... we don't even know that. and if he has no other parts and selling the car as-is..... I would pass on this one.

the car looks like it has been sitting for years so i assume the engine does not start and there is rust on all exposed metal in your pics.

it would cost you more than the car is worth to get it back in nice shape. Personally i would look for another.....

body and paint work alone is $5000 +
