Default vendors for hoods

Need to put on a L88 hood on my 69 coupe. I've checked online at Riks and ACI. Anyone else have any input into vendor for good quality hood?

Thanks, Ron

When Vanacor was still in business they had the best IMO, have GM factory molds. Ecklers is a close favorite IMO.

Word is Vanacor ill reopen in the near future.

Ron,

I just bought an ACI L88 hood for my '69 coupe. We only did a quick check on the fit before I sent the car out for stripping and painting last week, but it seemed to fit pretty good right out of the box.

The only issue that I had was with the passenger side female latch. My car is an early build '69 car and the hood appears to be molded from a later hood as I had to get a '70 passenger side female latch to get it to fit.

Quality and finish of the hood looked very good.

Thanks for the replies. Mine is an early '69 also. A good friend of mine does a lot of trim and fit work on vettes. Good suggestion on the 70 style latch.

I have an ACI door-to-door replacement on my 68. The installers/painters were a top Vette team (for about 40 years!). They told me the piece was top-notch. I would use them again. That doesn't mean other vendors are not good also; it's just my experience. Heck, ask for a discount, I did.

an excellent question that I've been toying with asking. I'm considering the same for my 78 so I will need a long hood. does ACI make one of these as well? and whats the consensus on fit?

Yes, we do manufacture L-88 hoods for 1973 - 1982 Corvettes. Our part number for the 77-82 hood is DHF035. It retails for 765.34.
