Can anyone help me locate a 1968 corvette vin number 117. It is a small block 300 with ps, pb. pw, tilt tele, convert. The color is lemans blue, bright blue interior. It was purchased new in Long Island. First owner sold in 74/75, then second owner sold few years later, then car was no longer able to be traced. Willing to pay nice finders fee and great price for the car. Thanks so much.
I had the same type of problem. In all honesty your best bet is a Private Investigator. I was able to track down some things on my own, but never the exact whereabouts or owners name...PI got it for me in about 2 hrs. Now I am talking with the owner about buying the car!
Go down through the gates. Third isle turn right, it's on the bottom of two junked cars stacked on top. Not much left to it after 30 years.
That is a possibility..

I did a VIN search in my state, just hoping that it was still existed. Turns out IL DMV had the car, and gave me the Title number and current registered LIC plate. I did a google search for local PI's. Found one for a decent deal that was actually a retired state trooper that add pretty easy access to that type of data. If you have an idea of where the car was origanally or where it moved to when it was sold, that might be a start.
