In a bit of a dilemma on what to do with the white seats in my 76. They are in reasonable nick but have faded on the bolsters and parts of the seat. The rear removable panel at the back of the seats are in fair condition. I don't know if they are pvc or leather seats as they are shiny in places, do any of you guys know?
I've read about the seat covers, what are the opinions about them.
Also on the door card panels, they are standard white but have a few small cracks particularly at the bottems and the top opening side. Without spending much cash on new, is there a reasonable way to rectify them.
AS FOR THE SEATS, YOU CAN USE VINYL DYE (SIMS). yOU CAN GET THIS FROM A PAINT SUPPLY STORE OR WILLCOX CORVETTES. tHE SUCCESS TO THIS PROCEDURE IS TO GET EVERYTHING SUCH AS ARMOL AND DIRT OFF OF THE SEATS. tHERE ARE ARTICLES ON DOING THIS. aS FOR THE DOORS, I'M NOT QUIET SURE WHAT THE FIX IS.
Trim tag on the driver's door hinge post will tell you whether the seats were originally leather or vinyl. Trim code for white leather is 112. 15V for white vinyl.
692 is dark brown leather. It's possible your upholstery and door panels have been replaced. It's also possible you have the optional white interior package which was available in '76. Supposed to be code 69 for that. It was available with buckskin exterior paint.
This is the optional white package with claret.
Your inteior should be about the same with brown in place of red. Post a pic of your interior.
C31 is the time/build date: October 31, Halloween. 64L is the color code for buckskin paint.
