Louis, so sorry for your loss, my Dad passed away 2 years ago and I think of him every day, I'm glad you have some good memories to think back on and just remember he is still with you and I know you will make him proud.
Regards
Roy
Lou, really sorry to hear that and for you to be feeling the way you are. I dread that day as well but sounds like you had a great dad and relationship with him. Take care.
Sorry for your loss. My Dad like your's was also a member of "the greatest generation" (with no disrespect to any member of our military since WWII). I lost my Dad 17 years ago this October. He was 68. Not a day goes by that I don't think about him. I can also tell you that 99% of the time those thoughts put a smile on my face. As time goes by even though you can't imagine that now you will be able to say the same. Cherish your fond memories. They will last a life time. God bless your Dad, you, and your family. America thanks him for his service.
I am very sorry for your loss, I lost my dad a year ago last October. My Dad was in the Navy, he also did NOT talk about it. He always said, "I hope no one else ever has to go to war." My dad was a family man and had passed that trait on to his 5 kids. One of the best times I had with him was going from Chicago to Toledo OH to pick up the vette and haul it back.
I would like to thank your father for his service. Surely Heaven is a little better place today. I had 5 uncles overseas (my Mother's brothers), and my Dad was on a ship. Uncle Terry was a war hero who fought at the Guadalcanal Campaign. I cannot begin to comprehend their bravery.
My Dad is also 85yo, and not doing well. He was in the Army in WWII, in the European theater. Yes they were and are the USA's greatest generation, and I cherish everyday, every moment, I spend with him.
I am very sorry for your loss, and it took me all day to just write this, it is a very personal and close to home subject.
Again, I am so sorry for your loss, may the Lord be with you in these very difficult times...
TJ,
My heartfelt thoughts go out to you for the loss of your father. I served for 21 years in the Army and have as well see allot of things. I will also say like others before me have said, that was one hellova unmatched generation to be associated with. I know you are proud hence the title you hold for your father "HERO." God Bless you!
Louis,
I'm very sorry to hear of your loss. Your father is a hero and always will be. You had a great roll model in your life and I'm sure he was honored and proud to have you as his son.
Glenn
I understand your lose. My dad passed away at 84 couple years back and he was also a Omaha Beach D-Day vet and tuff as nails and my hero too . You'll never stop thinking about him . I think about my ol man every day .
I am so sorry for your loss. My dad fought in the Pacific in WWII, he passed away when I was 18 years old. I still miss him, thank God we had such brave men and women during those awful times. God bless our service men and women both past and present.
