1973 Black?
The current owner is not a Corvette enthusiast....trust me when I say this.
It was only during his effort's to restore the car ("to his like'en") and in talking with a local, so called "Corvette Expert" on how to paint the car correctly, that the significance of the special paint tag took on a whole new meaning. Bottom line... I believe him, because he believes it. If, you would talk to him you would understand. All or most of the information he is stating is coming from, the behind the scene local corvette expert (whom is located in New Oxford, PA...with a first name of Mike).
As for paying more or less for the car, well...thats up to the buyer...NOM, N.O. HOOD, N.O. EXHAUST, No other Documentation....The interior has been redone. This work and the paint prep is where the current owner lost interest. He did mention that the frame had been placed on a lift and inspected, again by the local Corvette expert... whom said it was sound. He was just recently made aware of the build sheet location, but does not know if it is there...but it does have the original gas tank.
I have no real interest in this car, other than its novelty....If, one were to restore it back to original, it would look very similar to the Black one posted within this thread earlier, as this is a L-48 base motor Vin.
One last point....The current owner, had he painted the car, was going to paint it Tropical Blue...think back to the two tone 55 Chevy's...that shade of blue!
So, to sit here and hypothesize, conspire therories and or other...is totally up to the future posters to this thread. I'm done.
Stay in tune....

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
If memory serves, 75 or 76 was the first year for painted trim tags.

Yeppers, thats what the Black book say's...In the photo's prior to media blast, its apparent the car has seen at least one repaint in its lifetime and this has been admitted / stated by the owner...hence the paint on the trim tag.
Stay in tune...
