74 vette. The trim tag says.

Chevrolet D20
Trim 416 68L Paint

If I understand this correctly, 416 is Saddle leather and 68 is Dark brown.

What is 'L' for?

Before I comment, are you sure this is a 75? Because, if it is a 75, you are not going to like what I have to say.

Stay in tune....

....thought this "Dark Brown" was a 1974 only color. 1975 did not have a "Dark Brown".

Looks like you have a '74 trim tag. D20 is the time/build date. D for the fourth month of production; 20 for the 20th day of the month.

Tuesday, November 20, 1973 for 1974 production.
Monday, January 20, 1975 for 1975 production.

Paint and trim codes are '74.

L stands for lower or the body below the belt line. Other makes of Chevrolets could be two toned and would use the L. Corvettes were one color but GM continued to use the L.

Post your VIN.

The VIN isn't necessary if you've discovered it's actually a '74.

Default I agree with Gregg

G'day,

My '74 coupe has a Trim Tag showing J03, 416 and 68L, which mean it was built on May 03 1974, has medium saddle leather trim and was painted dark brown metallic.

Some clown(s) painted/dyed all (!!!) of the interior dark brown, including the leather seats, and at some stage, painted the exterior a silvery/light green colour, STRAIGHT OVER THE BROWN!!! Also I have a 1975 L48 Corvette engine fitted and had to find a tach drive HEI to make things work properly.

Sorry, just ranting. Hello Raj, how's things in sunny California?? I can't wait to get back and spend more time with you guys.

Regards from Down Under

Hey John,
Nice to hear from you. It isn't so sunny today. It's raining pretty bad today

Let us know when you are here next. We should get together again.

I am thinking of restoring my 69. So I am starting to look for another C3 that I can drive around while I work on the 69.
