Use it like you just did except with your question.

Cool! Does anyone have any pieces of advice about changing the clutch on a 77 L48?

Hi Ron,
Welcome. That is a bit of a general question. I would recommend checking in a Chilton or similar manual. Post questions if you run into problems. I've never done a clutch on a Vette (mine is an auto) but it should be fairly straight forward.
My local library has a great selection of auto repair manuals. I can usually find what I'm looking for there.
One thing to keep in mind, we love pictures. Post a pic and let us see what your working on.
There is a great group of guys here. They can usually help with any problem that you run into.
Good luck and most importantly...Have fun.

Thank you so much.......I put a luk in it, and now I can't get the pedal to engage......it was a full clutch before, and now it is soft and won't catch very well.......What do I do? I had all of my work checked by a pro, and he says' that I now need a longer pushrod to catch fully...Has anyone heard that you sometimes must change the pushrod length? I pulled the stock and probably original one out, which is 9 inches, but the guy says' that I can order a 10 inch, and that will solve my problem....Is he right or?????????? I appreciate any input....

When I put my new LUK clutch in, the pedal would not engage either. Had to adjust the clutch rod coming out of the firewall, almost to the end. I was surprised about how far I had to change the adjustment. Now it works fine. Difference between worn old clutch and new one, I guess.

Default Pedaless 77

Thank you Faster Rat! We will find a rod longer than 9 inches.....We really appreciate you taking the time to help us.....We have had 2 responses so far, and they are both good ideas...We already checked our throwout bearing, AND spoke to a tech @ Schaffer group in New York, to be sure that we were given the right bearing, and installed it correctly....That was the other idea that may have saved us ! We will try your idea next! We will write our founded solution, to continue to be able to help others! Thanks to both of you, we will be able to get it running! Thanks again! Ron&Kim !
