I belong to 4. The Corvette Forum being one of them.
If they're doing something that interestes me on a weekend I can get away, then I enjoy the day with like minded people. If not, I go my own way.
I'm not in any "offical" role in any of the clubs. Politics suck. I just like the fellowship of other Corvette owners.
alot of the corvette clubs are overweighted with C4,C5,C6 owners.. just like the magazines, everything is weighted to the new cars, thats where the money is...
.. Just a point of view...
I belong to the classic car clubs that are not corvette only... they are a little less critical of my car when my bellhousing bolts aren't correct!
I believe if I was gonna pay dues it would be to corvetteforum.com
I am thinking about doing just that...
Don't give them any ideas.
I belong to the local chapter of the NCRS. Will I have my car judged? No. I belong to it for the simple reason, I am not a motor head and we have tech sessions once a month. These tend to be geared toward C2's and C3's. Between CF and the club, I've learned a lot. Yes it is worth it IMO.
Depends on what you want. I was a founding member and past president of the Heartland Corvette Club a few years back. The folks in the club were great; we had good times.
I would if I wanted preferential treatment at judged shows just because of that.I'm sure not all clubs are like that though. It just took one time for me to get Screwed by a corvette club from the San Jacinto area a few years back,I forgot the name of that club(Wink).

I would agree with joewill, I looked into joining a club here on Delmarva, went to one of the events, and it's all C5 & 6 owners looking at you funny because you actually change your own oil! And yes, they always win the trophies too. Not that I'm bothered by that, it's the politics of clubs. So spend $70k on a Z06, polish it up, join the club, and get all the trophies you want! LOL!
The classic car clubs around are the better way to go. Eveyone is on the same plane. I attend the summer cruise in's and shoot the breeze, play the 50/50 for charity and leave whenever I feel like it.
Funny story, I was at an all Corvette event a couple years ago, and this older fellow came up to me and complimented me on my car. We started talking and he made a comment about all the new Vette's; "not sure why they're even here, what do they judge them by how much wax they have on thier car?" Thought that was pretty funny!

I belong to two clubs ... LCCC and the Corvette Square club ( A Masonic Corvette Club)..
Both Clubs have neither dues or meetings ..but do get together at functions, parades etc.
I'm in the same position (and near the same location!). I plan on going to a number of different shows, and then meeting the club members there to get a feel for what the group is like. Rhode Island Corvette Club has a lot of the C5 crowd, but they also show a number of C3 owners among their members, so I might just fit in.
