Default Which muffler for hooker headers/sidepipe

I am getting new headers and side pipes but not sure which muffler to get:
HOK-21021HKR (glasspack), # HOK-21002HKR (reverse-flow design for maximum sound control), or HOK-21046HKR Max Flow side pipe muffler.

I want a nice rumble but not monster loud that you can't hear yourself think. We like to take day trips with the vette so don't want something that will give you a headache listening to it all day, but I also want to "hear" them! Which one would be the best option?

Wouldn't it be great if this forum had a search function?

Oh, wait, we do....

Steve, I don't know if it's my computer, but the link goes to a "No Match Found" screen.

Even with the most restrictive muffler out there, you will "hear" the side pipes.

I have the Hooker reverse flow inserts from Summit in mine, and they sound great. Of course a 454 with a monster cam helps. They are VERY restrictive, so I just bought the STS inserts. Hopefully this weekend I will get a chance to swap them out.

Chances are you will like the reverse flow inserts for a few months, then want something louder, then you will get the less restrictive ones and you will be happy for a while. Then one day, you get the wild hair, and get the STS baffles and wonder why you didn't just get them in the first place. After a few months of that, you will start drilling holes in them. Then you will start welding up the holes because you realized that nobody wants to ride with you because the car is too loud, and the people that do have to shout to be heard.

The morale of the story is, side pipes are like cocaine. You get a taste and then you want more and more and more. Then one day, you realize you have alienated your family and friends and all you want is to get that feeling you got the first time you fired the car up with the side pipes on it in your garage.

I'm very happy with the 2 1/2" SweetThunder inserts in mine, they do offer a 2 3/4" insert now too
. Hooker offers the MaxFlo which is quite free flowing and if your looking for every last hp out of your engine for that extra 1/10 of a sec. there is the STS at roughly twice the price.

It would be nice if we had a decent search feature but...

Does anyone where the Sweet Thunder fall in the restriction arena?

X2 on the search feature.
