I went to the hardware store..parked in the street, say 10 feet in between the rear and front cars that were parked there..10 minutes a guy entered the store, hey anybody with an import parkend on the street? I noticed if was mine..so I went out...MF volvo parked in front hit my nose cracking the FB tip. he had no cars in front and backed up the 10ft to hit mine..it was either blind or a woman to hit my car..... I guess it was on puspose!!!!
could not take the plate number....
still have to fix the nose....
First of all I will probably get flogged for saying this but; Our c3's are somewhat valuable, say from 7k to 20k. Most daily driver cars trucks are upward of 30k trucks are more. I used to have a Ford 550 4 door 4X4 diesel truck worth over 50k, I never thought twice about parking in a crouded parking lot. Why do our C3's deserve special care? I don't know, but for some reason my 81 C3 gets to park inside and our new suburban parks outside, go figure???? Al
Once I got chewed-out by a little old lady for taking up 2 spots way out in BFE with my 71. Got me thinking, if I got a little old lady that worked up for taking two spots where no one wants to park, I'm just asking for it. I don't take two spots anymore.
Sometimes I think people will key a car that is parked in never, never land just to show you that you are an idiot if you think you can prevent them from damaging your car.

I drive my '55 Plymouth(which WILL dent and has NO replacment parts available for it) everywhere I go for 8 months a year. I average 20,000 miles a year. I park in the closest spot available. I drive it when it's sunny, when it rains, even sometimes in the snow. I have my car because I enjoy driving it, not lookig at how pretty it looks in the garage. I'm still searcing for a C3, but when I get one, I won't hesitate to park it in any parking lot, even the dreaded wal-mart

This largely describes my outlook, I take my car to the movies and leave in the lot unattended for hours, I go to the pub in it, I occasionally grocery shop in it. I take it to cruises where I leave the windows down and the hood up, unattended for hours on end.
Until 6 or 7 years ago the vette was my only car and so it got used as such.
This is not to say that you should do all these things, its a matter of personal preference. I look at the corvette and see an enjoyable ride. I therefore try to enjoy it as much as possible. Limiting myself to when I am in the cars immediate presence at all times isnt good enough for me.
