Default is either intake correct?

For my 71 454? one is GMT 3866287 H18 70 and the other is GMT2 338789 C 8 73 (as best I can tell with the paint build up) The intakes look the same except one has a block off plate bolted to it next to the t-stat. TIA

The casting number for 71 454/LS5 should be 3955287

H18 70 = Aug 18, 1970

C 8 73 = March 8th, 1973

The closest I come to that number would be for a 1974 LS4....336789.

Get some of that paint off, and I think the numbers will correlate.

Stay in tune....

Ok thats what it is... I wanted to make sure I kept the right one.. is there anything better about the 73/74 intake that I would want to leave it on the engine and use it instead? What do they go for if I sell it? Thanks!

It's interesting to see a '74 MY part cast in March '73. Car production didn't start until August so that stretches the 6 month rule in NCRS. I wonder if this manifold came off a late '73? I've already demonstrated that late '73 SBs got the '74 part number manifold, wonder if this is the same thing.

I would want to keep the numbers matching intake on my car....there is no advantage using a 73/74 intake.....Price? ck ebay or google corvette intake.
