took a gamble...
The radiator came in yesterday and I have to say, the thing is a work of art. The aluminum fan shroud looks so cool, and he wiring harness for it is really pro too. In the next couple weeks I should be installing it and will let you know about the fit and stuff...and of course...if it actually cools the beast on the highway!

I went the Ebay route also and could not be any happier.
Any time I can get good quality parts at a discount price
I'm all over it. Just because you pay an inflated price for
an item, doesn't mine your getting more, Alot of times I
find equal value for a fraction of the average cost.

I did the E-bay thing also, got a radiator made in the USA!!, fan shroud, spall fans and everything, under $600... a true work of art also...very very happy.... cools like a refrigerator! http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c3-t...nd-shroud.html

looks great!!
One more night and I think it will be done.
my helper:

figured we would change the fuel filters, oil, air filter, alt belt, etc while we were in there.
old radiator:

clutch fan worked great, but the shroud had issues.

I would love to know how old this carb is.

the fit of the new radiator is pretty good, not perfect, but I am not sure how much of that has to do with the supports being 40 years old

the wiring harness is nice, I decided to wire it into a 4 point electrical block to make wiring modifications a little easier.

Still have to wire in the switch, and then try to get the pipe plug out of the head so I can put in the automatic temp switch...THAT is not going well.
Those little guy helpers are always fun to have around. Enjoy the time together and Thanks for sharing.
It actually caused me to break out my corvette books. My windshield wiper door, wipers, washers, etc is practically non-existent...one of the downfalls of buying an AZ car
I think that project is going to be beyond me, but the 'while I am at it' virus is striking strong. I am enjoying my helper, I know these days don't last.

On the highway, I barely needed the fan on (granted it was cold today, but that didn't matter before), around town I did, but the fans would take the temp right down...I wish I had done this years ago!
This morning, popping, farting, and falling all over itself.
I think there is a wire grounding out some where.
So, next:
1) figure out what ports the heads have and order some exhaust gaskets for it (some one decided 3 gaskets put together couldn't possibly blow out...that person was wrong)
2) Change the rear fuel filter that I forgot I put on there about 10 years ago
3) FIND THAT DAMNED SHORTING WIRE!
Then maybe I can get some cruise time

Your heads have oval ports, and you are correct the three gasket thing wont work.
