Default Question about Exhaust

Alright so this is my '76 Stingray.

My question is i wanna put Dual Exhausts on my corvette. I found these but they dont match up years.

Will these work or does anyone else know of other dual exhausts that will fit my vette? Its a 350 Small Block L-48

The '74 should fit fine. After 74 the vette had a 2 to 1 to 2 system or basicly a single exhaust with split tips. 74 was the last true duals and they were designed to fit with the rear rubber bumpers.

It depends on the inspection rules in your state also. In some states any car older than a certain year is exempt from emissions so you can put on any exhaust that you want. If you have to have the original configuration to pass inspection you are screwed even if you put dual cats in the system. You can always play the game of installing the original exhaust for inspection and taking it off after you get home if necessary.

I went with a Magnaflow system which is made with turn-down tips and should work for your Vette as well.

I found them on Ebaymotors with make offer and free shipping.

I offered $650 and modified the tips for my 73. My system

Hey, don't you have a local muffler shop? Seriously it would save you money to develop a relationship locally. Exhaust work is not an expensive deal.

If you have a shop do it I think you'll find in some areas that they will not remove a cat or other emission equipment.

With true duals, you'll need a different exhaust hanger bracket that bolts between the tranny & tranny mount. You can also get small hi-flow cats for each side if your state requires them.
This is what you have now:

This is the bracket you'll need for dual exhaust, for 2.5 pipes pictured
