Ideas for T-top Storage Rack in Garage?
I thought I recalled seeing somebody with a wall-mounted storage-rack for their t-tops when they're not on the car. I'm planning on building a rack this weekend to hold my t-tops when I pop them off for a short ride, but wanted to see what other people have done for this kind of storage.

This is probably the one you saw. I have used it for years. Do a search of this forum as there was another thread on the same subject a few weeks back.

That wasn't the design I remember, but I like it.
I did multiple searches with differentterms, but did not turn up any obvious threads touching on this.

I went to Home Depot and found hooks for 4.00 that work great. They have a capacity of 50 pounds each and they are padded. These things have been holding my tops for about 5 years now.

Whats wrong with laying a piece of cardboard on the floor and laying the tops on that!?!!?!?!?!?!??! Or carpet, maybe someone can give you a small piece............................

I think the problem would be obvious.
I ended up buying a pair of those brackets from Home Depot, and screwing them into the wall between the studs with some 1 1/4" drywall screws. I stapled a strip of pipe-insulation against the wall where the top of the t-top would rub against the wall, and voila! for about $11 and ten minutes of work I have some nice easy-to-use and secure t-top storage!

OK, here is another answer, I have never driven my cars with the tops out, WAY TOO MUCH noise and turbulence. I drive mine with the air on and I am very comfortable, plus with the air on it also solves the cabin heat problem everyone is chasing to fix.
The only time I remove the tops is when I am done washing the car in order to dry under them.....................

But now that Spring is here, I'll probably keep the tops off *unless* I'm washing the car.
And my A/C doesn't work <yet>.

See, I'm probably the opposite; I don't take my car out if it's likely to rain, and I love the wind and sun, so if I'm taking mine out, I'll probably have the tops off anyway. If there is a remote chance, I'll pack them in the back for the trip.
