Default Ideas for T-top Storage Rack in Garage?

I thought I recalled seeing somebody with a wall-mounted storage-rack for their t-tops when they're not on the car. I'm planning on building a rack this weekend to hold my t-tops when I pop them off for a short ride, but wanted to see what other people have done for this kind of storage.

This is probably the one you saw. I have used it for years. Do a search of this forum as there was another thread on the same subject a few weeks back.

Nice, and easy enough to build too.

Guess what I'm going to be doing soon.

That wasn't the design I remember, but I like it.

I did multiple searches with differentterms, but did not turn up any obvious threads touching on this.

What do people think of the T-top suitcase that is available from various vendors?

I have one and keep it in the car ... but it's useless when I leave the tops at home.

I went to Home Depot and found hooks for 4.00 that work great. They have a capacity of 50 pounds each and they are padded. These things have been holding my tops for about 5 years now.

In a garage like this:

I think the problem would be obvious.

I ended up buying a pair of those brackets from Home Depot, and screwing them into the wall between the studs with some 1 1/4" drywall screws. I stapled a strip of pipe-insulation against the wall where the top of the t-top would rub against the wall, and voila! for about $11 and ten minutes of work I have some nice easy-to-use and secure t-top storage!

I like to keep the tops in the car in the event of rain or if I break down and need to lock it up.

I have one, it works good, no worries about the tops rubbing together or getting scratched.

Why would you get the suitcase and have to deals with putting in in the rear when you could just get the bracket and mount it to the luggage rack?

OK, here is another answer, I have never driven my cars with the tops out, WAY TOO MUCH noise and turbulence. I drive mine with the air on and I am very comfortable, plus with the air on it also solves the cabin heat problem everyone is chasing to fix.
The only time I remove the tops is when I am done washing the car in order to dry under them.....................

See, I'm probably the opposite; I don't take my car out if it's likely to rain, and I love the wind and sun, so if I'm taking mine out, I'll probably have the tops off anyway. If there is a remote chance things won't stay dry, I'll pack them in the back for the trip.

But now that Spring is here, I'll probably keep the tops off *unless* I'm washing the car.

And my A/C doesn't work <yet>.

Leaving the tops on makes you miss half the fun brother, the only time mine are on is when it's cold outside. Nothing better than having the wind, the sun and the noise.

same here, no AC anyway. I do like and will get those Home Depot brackets though for the short local trips. I also wash my Vette with just a damp cloth, I never hose it down because of T-Tops leaks. New WS on the way!

I had made up a little trolly with wheels, it has 2 sections for the tops to slide into and i covered it in rubber. it works well and keeps the tops out of the way. my concerns were that someone would walk in the garage and damage it by dropping something on it whilst im not there!!.
