Looking for some help on where I can buy birdcage parts....
My birdcage has problems... but I'm not going to give up on it and love the chance to fix it, no matter the work.
Need to source where I can buy replacement rails/ or / rockers? for it.
I know I saw them somewhere but can not find them now.
Also the rear driver side post on the birdcage is bad, hope I can find something to fix it.
Almost forgot.... It's a 79'
Thanks John

John,
Welcome to the Forum. Try:

I think he supplies most vendors with birdcage parts. I do not believe they have a web site, but they do have a catalog. When I talked to them at Carlisle they were very helpful.
I have a drivers side rocker channel from a doner car that is rust free. It includes the bottom portions of the bird cage pillars. If you are interested, i can PM a photo.
I don't mean to repeat this post, but I just put it up in your other '79 thread, which appears to be a repeat of this one.
These guys were displaying their parts at 2009 Carlisle. They had every part necessary to rebuild a full birdcage and it looked beautiful. It was Caledonia Corvettes or Coffman, I can't remember, sorry. (I'll see if I can find out- pretty sure it was Caledonia.) If someone remembers, please chime in.
Incidentally, I've purchased some windshield frame pieces from vendors (some on this Forum, who will go nameless) that are very poorly made and are unacceptable. Worst customer service problem I've had in quite some time. Be careful of some of the repro stuff out there.
Think very carefully about buying from a place like Caledonia first instead of the repro parts that many of the vendors are passing around.
I believe that it was Caledonia that had the birdcage display at Carlisle and it was a very nice piece indeed. I seem to remember that they have completed the C2 birdcage tooling at this time but the complete array of stampings for C3 was still a ways off.

Really? I didn't know the C3 was not all available. Thanks for the info.

I was told that some of the parts are available, just not everything yet as there was still more tooling to be made. Of course that was a while ago, If I was in the market I would give them a call to inquire about the progress of the C3 parts.
Talk to Gary at Caledonia. He's the man. Did business with him at Carlisle 2007 when I was playing with my frame. His stuff is great and he's a wealth of information. You won't go wrong.
Thanks,
The only problem is being up here in Canada and shipping something up here is killer.
Where in Canada?
Shipping costs are minimized when you make arrangements to have parts shipped by USPS. Most vendors when approached will ship this way. This shipping method is obviously only reasonable when the part size is manageable.
Post your needs in the regional forum for Canada when you can identify what specific large items you are searching for.
I have used UPS and Purolator when I was forced by product needs, to pay ridiculous shipping costs.
