Default Looking at a 78'

Well, I found another vette I'm going to look at, and I've learned alot in what to look for when buying one. I think I know where to look on the frame and birdcage for rust or rot.

If you have any advice or things I should look out for, including the frame or birdcage....Please, I'd love to here from you.

Here's all I know about car at this point, first it's up here in canada,
-It's been stored inside on a concrete floor since 89' and who know's before that.
-It has not been run in 12 years, did 6 months ago but not very well.
-it was oiled prior to it being stored.... maybe just before it was put away.
-The only thing that's not original is it has a 427 and not a 350 but need to find out for sure.

Please pipe up, not going to see it for a couple of days.

Also to add to this,
I know a bit about vette's but what can I see to make sure it's a 427 and not a 350.
* where are the number's on a engine to check.
*and what have you guys run into when an engine has sat for so long? I can think of a few things but want to hear from you.

I'm not too worried about matching numbers car just want to cruise around in one while I restore a 79'

Thanks
John

One quick look at the valve covers will tell if it's a BBC or SBC!!

I'll try and take some pics of the car and post them.
