Default new door panels

got new panels for my 71 and can't figure out how to attach the clips at the bottom. any experienced interior guys chime in... thanks

If you are talking about the metal clips at the lower front of the panel, they get screwed into the front edge of the door itself, if your holes have not been filled in during a resto or something. The rest of the fiber or velcro clips should match up to the clips on the inner side of the door, all this of course after you slide the panels over the top edge of the door.

thanks for the reply sarge but i know how they attach the the door, but how do you attach the clips to the panel. thats what i can't figure out.

If I remember correctly, there is a slot in the panel to slide them into the panel. Look at the bottom corner about where the clip would go, you will see a cut out in the panel, you slide the clip in and then it is held in by the panel backing.

If they are repo panels you need to cut the abs backing to slide the clips in place.


I don't know what happened with this picture but you can see that you just want to trim enough to attach the clip to the frame of the door. A little trim and fit until you get it right.
