if you paint it black it will look great, and you will go insane trying to keep it looking that way.

I have learned the hard way, i am too **** to ever own another black car.

My vote is for gunmetal with black stripe

I would stay away from the silver/metal flake paint job. If you ever need any paint/body work it will be nearly impossible to match.

I almost went with that. Check this thread out, there are some photoshops and a model I painted.

Same type of discouragement I heard before I did mine. And look at my avatar, need I say more?

I already had to match a panel that got keyed, you'd never know even if I pointed it out. Just keep some of the original color, to make sure you have some from the same batch.

If you want black, do black. But if you do a dark color make sure to block sand the surfacer, don't just strip prime and spray.

IF you go with black w/ metal/silver flakes ... won't it look more gray anyway?

I don't see what the big deal is about keeping black clean. I had mine painted the original shade of black 4 years ago, and don't regret it at all. No it doesn't get driven in the rain and it does stay in a garage, but I do wipe it down all the time. To me it's just not a big deal, more like a labor of love.

But......
You should prepare every car like you are going to paint it black, poor prep work will show on any color!

If you pick black make sure that you get plenty of Griots 3 or 4 polish and some best of show wax to keep it looking great. Good luck !!!!

My vote would be Black with a dark Gunmetal stripe.

Black isn't too much trouble really. I hit mine with a California Duster in the garage just about everytime before I drive it, as I love the mirror look. Paint's not show, but it looks pretty good for a driver.

Got to love Black!!!
